Question
I haven't jogged in a while and my shins are hurting me after jogging only about a half mile.
Answer
If you have not jogged for a while you need to begin jogging slowly. Begin with a walk and only jog for 3-5 minutes. Then resume to a walk. Try this sequence for 30-40 minutes for the first time out. Also, check your shoes. Make sure you have sturdy shoes that are not more than 6 months old. Stretch your legs after the walk-jog. After a few days if you do not have shin splints, increase the jogging time.
