| Question |
| How can I get myself to pedal faster? |
| Answer |
| Answered by Ken Snowden.
Much of your spin comes from seat position. Usually setting back on the saddle so your knees can more easily come in front of you improves your spin speed. Many people do not know that an efficient, rapid and strong pedal stroke comes from lift as much as extension of the leg. If you are too far forward, your knee circles up under your buttocks and hip making you bounce on the seat. If the seat is too high there is too much involvement of flexing the toe. This is wasted motion. If the foot is relatively flat, and the leg is not fully extended, the recovery and lift of the leg is much more rapid and efficient. |
