Question
Hi, I am aged 29 and would like to flatten my abs, but then i have a problem. My left leg is affected by polio and therefore is shortened by an inch and is weak too... thats the reason i am unable to do some hard exercising. Would appreciate if u could suggest something.
Answer
I am just curious. If you have one leg shorter than the other did you visit an orthopedic surgeon or podiatrist who could measure you for orthotics? These are inserts in your shoes that can even your leg length discrepancy. First check with a doctor. As far as working out intensely you can workout on a stationery bike or stepper that would be fine for you. Also, to work the abdominals there are some wonderful exercises through Pilates that will help teach you the basics of core conditioning and how to perform each exercise properly. Try to find a studio where you could learn the proper form first or buy a video. The leg discrepancy should not affect your abdominal workout. Please write back and let us know about your follow up.
